New Cars of the Stars Scotland motor
museum opens today in Alexandria
A new exhibition of world famous cars from movies and television opens today in the Loch Lomond Galleries in Alexandria.
Car enthusiast Peter Nelson has already built up a unique collection of famous motor vehicles from TV and film which have been on display at the original Cars of the Stars museum in Keswick which has been open for 20 years and is known throughout the world. Now he is bringing his impressive range of stunning vehicles north of the border to the shores of Loch Lomond.
Peter first began collecting vehicles which had become almost as big as the stars who drove them in films or television shows thirty years ago and his collection includes Del Boy Trotters three wheeler van, the red and white Starsky & Hutch Ford Gran Torino, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the Herbie Love Bug, the Back to the Future DeLorean, and David Hasselhoffs K.I.T.T Knightrider supercar and many more. These cars are all now on display in his new Cars of the Stars museum in Alexandria, West Dunbartonshire.
Peter is also a huge fan of James Bond and has recently opened a museum dedicated exclusively to the world of Ian Fleming's secret agent, which is also in Keswick in the heart of the English Lake District and has over 40 cars, bikes, planes and boats plus some rare props from the films.
The museum will open to the public on Wednesday 7th July in the Loch Lomond Galleries motor museum on North Main Street, Alexandria.
