One of the most famous and hilarious comic creations in Britain (and now, thanks to the movies, the world), Mr. Bean is the epitome of comic genius. Starring Rowan Atkinson, the various episodes see him bungle his way through one chaotic scenario to another, from three-wheelers and turkeys to dentist and bingo, Mr Bean brings mayhem to order and hilarity to normality. Mr Bean's Mini
THE CAR
Mr. Bean's famous car is a 1977 MK IV British Leyland Mini 1000 lime green in colour and with a black bonnet. The Mini on display at our museum is one of only two original cars used by Rowan Atkinson in the TV series, and we own both of them. One is the main vehicle used and the other was rebuilt after being damaged by a tank!
Action Vehicles supplied this vehicle for the first series, on completion it was sold to Karikar Kars who hired it for shows and special events. For one year it was displayed at the Rover groups museum at Gaydon where it was a major attraction.
Cars of the Stars purchased it in 1997.
