Knight Rider. A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist. Michael Knight - a young loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless, the powerless, in a world of criminals who operate above the law...
Knight Rider's KITT
Michael Long, a veteran of Vietnam and policeman, is severely injured while operating in the line of duty. He is 'reconstructed' with a new identity by millionaire industrialist Wilton Knight, who required a partner for his crime fighting super computer mastermind car KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand).
The car fires rockets, tear gas, has X-ray viewers, medical analysers, surveillance scanners and is capable of 0-60 in 0.2 seconds with a top speed of 300mph. David Hasselhoff played Michael Knight in the phenomenaly succesful TV series that ran for four seasons.
THE CAR
KITT was based on a black 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. The car on display in the museum is one of the actual cars used and was purchased direct from David Hasselhoff.

REMAKE
In 2008 a new Knight Rider series was broadcast, this time featuring a brand new KITT (now a Knight Industries Three Thousand) based on a Ford Shelby GT500KR Mustang that could change shape into various other cars. This new KITT was voiced by Val Kilmer, but the show only ran for one season.
