James Bond 007
Lotus Esprit S1

For the 10th Bond film the scope of the film was stepped up a notch and it shows. The Spy Who Loved Me features numerous vehicles that the museum is proud to own and the main vehicle is of course the white Lotus Esprit S1 car that transforms into submarine in the film.

We have on display the actual car that is used in the film, on location in Sardinia for the mountain road chase. Bond was pursued by first a Kawasaki Z900 with exploding side car which just missed him and hit a lorry carrying mattresses and then one of Stromberg's black Bell Jet Ranger Helicopters that famously chased the Lotus off a pier and into the sea before being blown up by a sea-to-air rocket.
